Embodied Integrative Therapy(EIT)
Embodied Integrative Therapy is a gentle, client-led approach that combines counselling, body awareness and compassionate curiosity to help people reconnect with themselves.
Listening to the body. Reconnecting with yourself.

What is Embodied Integrative Therapy (EIT)?
Embodied Integrative Therapy (EIT) is a gentle, client-led approach that combines talking therapy, body awareness, movement and therapeutic touch to support healing, self-awareness and emotional wellbeing.
EIT has evolved from nearly thirty years of working with people through massage, holistic therapies, Reiki, Pilates, counselling and body psychotherapy, alongside my own personal journey of healing and self-discovery.
Rather than seeing the mind and body as separate, EIT recognises that they are constantly communicating with one another. Our thoughts influence our bodies, and our bodies often hold experiences that words alone cannot fully express.
Sometimes we understand something intellectually, yet our body still carries tension, anxiety, grief or protective patterns. EIT gently invites you to explore these experiences with curiosity, compassion and without judgement, creating space for deeper awareness and lasting change.
"Healing isn't about fixing yourself. It's about gently reconnecting with who you already are"
What happens during an EIT session?
Every session is unique because every person is unique.
We begin by talking about whatever feels important to you. Together we create a safe, collaborative space where we can gently explore your thoughts, emotions and bodily experience.
As the session unfolds, I may invite you to notice your breathing, posture, sensations or areas of tension. Depending on your needs, we may work with:
• Body awareness
• Breath awareness
• Mindful presence
• Gentle movement
• Imagery and metaphor
• Relaxation
• Nervous system awareness
• Compassionate dialogue
Where appropriate, I may also incorporate therapeutic touch, always with your explicit consent and within professional and ethical boundaries.
This may include gentle, supportive touch or mindful holding to encourage relaxation, deepen body awareness and support your connection with what you are experiencing. As my practice continues to evolve, I am also expanding my understanding of fascial approaches and how they may complement embodied therapeutic work.
There is no right or wrong experience. Some people notice emotions, memories or images emerging. Others become aware of areas of tension, warmth, ease or discomfort within the body. Some simply experience a profound sense of relaxation and reconnection. Whatever arises, we explore it together with curiosity, compassion and without judgement.
A collaborative way of working
One of the guiding principles of Embodied Integrative Therapy is that I don't interpret your experience for you.
If an image, sensation, colour or memory arises during a session, I won't tell you what it means.
Instead, we'll become curious together.
I may ask gentle questions such as:
"What does that sensation feel like?"
"What comes to mind as you notice that image?"
"If that feeling had a voice, what might it want to say?"
I believe that the most meaningful insights come from your own understanding rather than someone else's interpretation.
My role isn't to provide answers, but to create a safe, compassionate therapeutic relationship where you can listen to your own body, make sense of your own experience and discover your own inner wisdom
Who is Embodied Integrative Therapy for?
Embodied Integrative Therapy may be helpful if you:
• Feel disconnected from yourself or your body.
• Live with anxiety, stress or emotional overwhelm.
• Carry tension that never seems to leave.
• Have insight into your difficulties but still feel "stuck."
• Are navigating grief, loss or life changes.
• Find it difficult to put your thoughts or feelings into words.
• Want to understand yourself on a deeper level.
• Are looking for a gentle, holistic and compassionate approach to healing.
You don't need any previous experience of counselling, meditation, mindfulness or bodywork.
Only a willingness to be curious about yourself.
The Heart of EIT
I don't believe people are broken.
I believe we all carry experiences that have shaped us.
Some of those experiences live in words.
Some live in emotions.
Some are held quietly within the body.
Healing, for me, isn't about becoming someone different.
It's about gently reconnecting with who you already are.
At the heart of EIT is the belief that healing begins with curiosity, compassion and connection. When we take the time to listen to our bodies as well as our thoughts, we can begin to understand ourselves more deeply and gently weave together the parts of ourselves that may have become disconnected.
Embodied Integrative Therapy continues to evolve through my clinical practice, ongoing professional development, supervision and the people who trust me to walk alongside them.
It isn't simply a therapy I decided to create.
It has emerged naturally through years of learning, living and listening.
If you're curious about Embodied Integrative Therapy, I'd be delighted to welcome you and explore whether it feels like the right approach for you.
